Loss of Identity

It's thrilling having a pregnant wife. Something new is always happening, sometimes good and sometimes not, but life is always interesting. The one serious downside is that as a father to be you just sort of sit on the sidelines. Margaret's mother and aunt visited us this weekend and talk ensued about pregnancy. It didn't matter that her aunt has never had a child, she was still full of advice. The few times somebody did talk to me, it was just gushing about what a "good job" I did. I didn't do anything yet! It almost seems that Margaret didn't even need to be there either, just her stomach so that the other women would have something to talk about. I don't expect this will change much until I can teach our boy how not to be cute so that his relatives will stop gushing over him.
