Running times
5/29 - 13 laps, 31:35 (pace 26:00). Slightly slower than the 25th, I think because I wasn't doing interval, this was attempting to maintain the same pace (first 6 laps @ 2:15, then I started slowing down a lot)

Running times
5/28 - 7 laps, 15:40 (pace 14:00). Interval training, I started setting interval pace for 1:50 lap (8:15 mile). I don't really need that mile time, but it's easier to train to be a little faster than necessary.
5/27 would've normally been a bike cardio day, but I took a rest to let my legs recover a bit.

Running times
5/19 - 16:20, 7 laps (pace 14:00). First mile in 9:30
5/20 - 33:10, 13 laps (pace 26:00)
5/22 - 9:00 mile (first!)
5/23 - 32:20 2.7 miles
Tomorrow's an off day for running, I'll get in some squats and the 15 minute situp/pushup cycle (got out of work late today, so all I got to do were chinups. Chinups/pushups are on alternate days, now.)
I turned off LJ repost, I hate spamming the friends lists of people with exercise info that's really only meaningful to me.
The 9 minute mile is huge. It was during interval training, so I need to repeat it at pace, and extend it to 7 laps (for a 14:00 time), but that's really my big goal and I'm glad to see it's getting closer.

Day is finally done
getting LDAP auth working on our old solaris 9 boxes took way, way longer than I'd hoped, but finally as of 10:30 my work day is done.
And now, time for Shrek.

Last night's 4 mile
Did 18 laps (4 miles) last night in 47:14.
Given 2 weeks from my previous update on that, it looks like I'm still doing better than 2 minutes/week better time for it.
I finished up season one of How I Met Your Mother, it was AWESOME. Seriously, LEGENDARY.

Test entry
Gnome has some nifty blog post widget that I'm testing out real quick.
If it works, who knows, maybe I'll post more?

Weekend plans
Headed up to Austin this weekend to go shooting with Scot and generally hang out a bit. I wanted to give him a chance to try out the small-frame Kimber .45 before deciding on a sissy .40 S&W for carry. I ordered some targets, but I don't think they'll come in before I leave.
I ran a 53:30 4mi. the night before last (last night was interval training, which I'm awful at). I don't know if I can maintain a 2 minute/week decrease in my 4mi. time, but I'd really like to (or, do better than that). I need to pull about 16 minutes off that time, and I'd rather not take all summer to do so.
New mandate from the boss man that everyone will arrive before 9am and leave after 4pm, with some various exemptions. I'm on a bit of a downer about that. I started watching The Unit last night, and ended up watching to the end of the 2nd disc. It was... rather late, when I finally went to sleep.

Clumsy
I was just sitting around the office being a slacker, when "Clumsy" by Our Lady Peace cued up. It's often amazing how intrinsically music gets tied to my memories, often due to how often I'll leave songs on repeat. In Spring of 1998, I was working as a tech at a lab in the Blocker building of Texas A&M. We had an old Mac that was the only computer in the lab with and audio card. It wasn't much, but it was (barely) enough to play an mp3. It was a pain to load a mp3 on the system, so the only one that got loaded was OLP's "Clumsy". Listening to it now reminds me of melancholy and bittersweet times working in that lab.
Last night I jogged 54:30 for 18 laps (4 miles). Annoyingly, endorphines only kicked in after the 10th lap. Tonight, in a bit, I'm going to go do some interval running. It is nice, though, to get my distance up to what I used to run regularly.
